Makes sense as a depth option at OT.

Just call Max already!
"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"
I wonder if Max is still holding out for a starting opportunity? Or if the coaching staff is moving on because he does not fit the new scheme?
I agree - call Starks and bring him in. Even if as a backup initially, he's almost certain to play.
I like Max. I really do. But he does not fit what the new o-line coach and Haley likes in an o-line. Max never gets to the second level and he is really not a good fit in a zone based scheme.
Not sure if people noticed last year but Max Starks was pulling from LT fairly often. He moved well but probably not well enough.
Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go...
Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go...
Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go...!!!
I would prefer Max Starks. Ben trusts Max Starks and Max has always delivered more often than not.
There should be a fair competition between Adams, Gilbert and Max for LT spot in TC.
Steelers Draft 2015
Rd 1: Devante Parker - WR/ Kevin Johnson - CB
Rd 2: Danielle Hunter -OLB
Rd 3: Steven Nelson - CB
Rd 4: Derron Smith - S
Rd 5: Henry Anderson - DE
Rd 6: Wes Saxton - TE
Rd 7: Deon Simon - DT
I think that's part of the problem... If you call Max, *we all* have a bias, including the team/coaches/Ben.... You'd have to significantly out-play Max to win Max's long-held job...
Basically, you just hope the guys you have can get it done -- and look for good bargains, salary-wise -- and if they can't, you hope Max is still available.
