Ahmad Bradshaw gets full medical clearance

Posted by Josh Alper on April 26, 2013, 9:46 AM EDT
APNo running backs were taken in the first round of the draft for the first time since 1963.
They figure to start coming off the board on Friday, but teams that don’t find what they’re looking for in the backfield in the draft will have a veteran option to add to the mix once the draft comes to a close. PFT has learned from a league source that running back Ahmad Bradshaw has received full medical clearance to resume all football activities after having surgery on his troublesome foot earlier in the offseason.
Bradshaw had to have a screw from a previous operation replaced with another one, something that’s kept him from working out for teams that might be interested in signing him. One of those teams is the Steelers, who had Bradshaw in for a visit already. Their General Manager Kevin Colbert told PFT Live this week that they will revisit the possibility of bringing Bradshaw on board after the draft.
Depending on how the next two days play out, the Steelers may have company in pursuit of the former Giant running back. If that market does develop that way, Bradshaw probably won’t be unemployed too much longer.

Great. Too bad we have no money to sign him.

Anyone else hope we still sign Bradshaw? I would feel a helluva lot more sure our ground game will be solid in 2013 if we have:

Bradshaw - Bell - Dwyer/Redman - Stevens Howling

then I would with just:

Bell - Dwyer - Redman - Stevens Howling

with that second grouping we are one high ankle sprain to Bell from having the same exact running game, sans Stevens Howling, that was such a disaster last season.

Definitely like Bradshaw. I say we dump Redman and Batch.. then have Bradshaw, Dwyer, Bell, Stevens Howling

I agree. But aren´t guaranteed the Redman and Dwyer´s contract?

I would rather just get Bell experience.

Bradshaw getting 200 carries a year for the next 3 years would help extend Bell's career. You can never have enough good backs. That said I'd rather invest in the OLIne and any back will do. With a great line, we should be able to get UDFA RBs that can produce.

I'm ok with the backs we have and believe Bell will be an upgrade at the position. Lets just hope our O-line can stay healthy for a change with the same five starters. I seen some good flashes from Adams in the run game before he was injured, but there is still some uncertainty with the LT position because we just don't know how that's going to play out.
Just in case they might want to have Max on speed dial.

If we've the cap space we have to get Bradshaw, our ground game would look very solid & Bell would gain from his experience.
