    First Round Draft Day Trades By The Numbers

    Just curious to see how close some of these trades were according to the Standard Draft Trade Value Chart:

    Miami Gets:

    1.3 = 2200 (used to select DE Dion Jordan)

    Oakland Gets:

    1.12 = 1200 (used to select CB D.J. Hayden)
    2.42 = 480

    Total = 1680

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    St. Louis Gets:

    1.8 = 1400 (used to select WR Tavon Austin)
    3.71 = 235

    Total = 1635

    Buffalo Gets:

    1.16 = 1000 (used to select QB E.J. Manuel)
    2.46 = 440
    3.78 = 200
    7.222 = 3.6

    Total = 1643.6

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    San Francisco Gets:

    1.18 = 900 (used to select FS Eric Reid)

    Dallas Gets:

    1.31 = 600 (used to select C Travis Frederick)
    3.74 = 220

    Total = 820

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Atlanta Gets:

    1.22 = 780 (used to select CB Desmond Trufant)
    A 7th rounder in 2015 = negligible (7th round picks are typically worth in the neighborhood of 2 or 3 points on the chart after all of the round 3, 4, 5, and 6 comp picks have been added)

    St. Louis Gets:

    1.30 = 620 (used to select LB Alec Ogletree)
    3.92 = 132
    6.198 = 13.2

    Total = 765.2

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Minnesota Gets:

    1.29 = 640 (used to select WR Cordarelle Patterson)

    New England Gets:

    2.52 = 380
    3.83 = 175
    4.102 = 92
    7.229 = 2.5

    Total = 649.5

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Looking at the two Rams trades combined, they gave up 1.16, 1.22, 2.46, 3.78, 7.222, and a 2015 7th rounder (total value: 2423.6 points) in exchange for 1.8, 1.30, 3.71, 3.92, and 6.198 (total value: 2400.2 points). That's remarkably close, all things considered. The Rams two original first rounders were used to select QB E.J. Manuel (Bills) and CB Desmond Trufant (Falcons), while they got WR Tavon Austin and LB Alec Ogletree instead.
    Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

    Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

    We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

    We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

    Nice Job Ruthless. Very interesting to see all that.
