Do you honestly think he'll see the field much this year? I'm not being negative, I'm legitimately asking.

no reason you can't use him like the 9'ers used Aldon Smith as a roookie. Let him be a pass rush specialist while he gets the rest of it down really well, and as soon as he is ready, turn over the reigns to him.

OK, I see him as a specialist maybe. Do you think he'll ever learn to be stout against the run?? Will he be able to cover TE's? Do you just see him as that pass rush specialist?

Why not. Can't compare the past when this is the highest OLB the Steelers have drafted while in their 3-4 and one who has actually played OLB in a 3-4. He isnt the typical tweener who is making the change to OLB.

Go back to all of the OLB for the Steelers in their 3-4. They all had to learn how to play the run and drop in coverage. And they had to do it while adjusting to a new position. Jones has a leg up on them.

he already can play the run. He had a crazy ridiculous amount of tackles for loss the past two years. He also had pretty darn good total tackle numbers.

Most 3-4 OLBs are one-trick pass rushing ponies. James Harrison was different because he could do it all. It showed up in his tackle stats being far above other 3-4 OLBs. Jones can certainly come close to those numbers I think.

I love Jones. Never thought he'd get to us. He was so productive. Have to admit, I was a little bummed at first because I though we were gonna end up getting Star and he went 3 picks ahead of us. But this is a great pick. I guess I was thinking Star was the best defensive player in the draft. Star going to Carolina just felt so deflating. But Jones looks like the next great ROLB. Fits perfectly. And that's the only hole on the team where we really don't have a legit player.
