It isn't a pointless topic but if you want to keep that as your opinion you are allowed to. It is pointless to you because you don't agree with it. So to continue to argue about our difference of opinions is pointless.

If you think that the people that matter don't consider past drafts when putting a board together you must not listen & read alot regarding the draft. It is an easy tool for comparison and brought up in discussions. Your belief on lack of relevance when someone considers taking someone in the first who is less of a prospeect than a player taken in the second round of a year before means nothing to its merit. This isn't "my opinion". I'm sure you get that...

BTW--McShay's latest Mock has Eifert going in the Top 10. #6 to Cleveland

But heck what does he possibly know.

He had Mike Adams as a first round pick last year, yet you've written off the Steelers OTs. McShay is a talking head, not a profesional scout.

Of course that is true...He is a 1st round propspect in this draft because of lack there of. If Eifert is the 17th best player in this draft the pick makes sense. If Colby Fleener is in this draft he goes off the board before Eifert. Fleener was a better prospect & he went #34. More talent in that draft. So if my guy is gone, I'm looking to trade back for more value. If I miss on Eifert so what. If I can't trade back, take BPA. If it is Eifert, that is the pick.

There have been several experts that said they wouldn't want to be a GM picking outside the Top 12-15 in the 1st. There is a reason for that. When you are under the assumption the boards are made from prospects 1-256 and they fall by rounds in that order , I can understand some posters logic. The teams tier by position & round. Their evaluation process is more complex than looking at a website and numbering the prospects. I'm not an expert but I have done my research and seen what they do. My board would have Eifert & Ertz tiered as 2nd round TEs as 1 & 2. My board would also only have 19 1st round talents tiered.

Yes, McShay is a "talking head" and as such he has more access to information and "real scouts" than anyone on this board. I think we can both agree that his opinions are probably more informed than anyone who posts here can't we?

Your answer to Eifert a Top 10 talent is 3 days away. I guess you agree he is the 6th best player in this draft.

Kiper and McShay are both inaccurate:

You can cherry pick anybody you want to support or oppose any position. I can say that Pat Kirwan has Eifert going 30th overall, but I wouldn't be telling you that others have him in the 13-17 range.

Eifert is all over the board by the so called experts. Charley Casserly, a former GM, has him at 31. Certainly you would agree that Casserly is more knowledgeable than your typical message board poster.

Matt Smith of NFL.com has Eifert at 30 and going after Ertz.

So next time you want to tell us all about what McShay has to say, please spare us the condescending tone.
