I now agree. I know coming out of college he was a big time prospect. I really didn't realize he was that big of a headcase. Havn't really paid attention how hes played in the NFL.

We need more team leaders and to hit on every one of our draft picks and start reloading. The last 2 seasons has been a big transformation of our team in terms of players.

    Rolando McClain arrested in Alabama

    Updated: April 22, 2013
    ESPN.com news services

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Rolando McClain was arrested Sunday in Decatur, Ala., and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

McClain was released after posting $1,000 bond, AL.com reported.

The Ravens signed McClain to a one-year contract April 12.

McClain has had a string of legal troubles in his hometown. He was involved in a shooting in Alabama in November 2011, when he left his former team, the Raiders, briefly during the season to attend a family funeral.

In May 2012, McClain was convicted of four misdemeanors -- reckless endangerment, menacing, third-degree assault and firing a gun in the city limits -- but he appealed the verdict and the charges were dropped when the accuser told prosecutors he no longer wanted to pursue the case.

On Jan. 8, McClain was arrested on charges of violating rules on car window tint and trying to lie to police about his identity.

McClain had a rough final season in Oakland, serving a two-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team. He also was demoted from the starting lineup a month into the season because of his struggles in pass coverage and because Raiders coaches thought he tired too much playing every down.

In 41 career games with Oakland, the former first-round pick had 6.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and no fumble recoveries, and he did little to help improve Oakland's struggling run defense.

    Rolando McClain Retires From NFL

Amidst off-field trouble, LB Rolando McClain is leaving football at 23 years old.

Rolando McClain’s turbulent NFL career is coming to an end at the age of 23.

The Ravens placed the inside linebacker and former first-round pick on the reserve/retired list Wednesday afternoon, General Manager Ozzie Newsome announced.

“Rolando let me know that he plans to retire from the NFL,” Newsome stated. “We have placed him on the Reserve/Retired list.”

McClain signed a one-year contract with the Ravens on April 12, but was arrested just 10 days later in his hometown of Decatur, Ala. It was the latest in a string of off-field problems for McClain since entering the league in 2009 as the eighth-overall pick.

McClain was arrested in December of 2011 and charged with third-degree assault, among others.

In January, he was arrested after an officer pulled him over for a window tint violation. He reportedly pleaded guilty to that charge on May 6 and charges of providing false information were dropped, according to The Baltimore Sun.

McClain’s is due in court on July 9 for his most recent charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

McClain finishes his NFL career with 274 tackles (195 solo), 6.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and 23 passes defensed in 41 career games with Oakland.

The Ravens now have one less inside linebackers, but did select Arthur Brown in the second round of the NFL draft. That leaves Brown and Jameel McClain as the likely starters, with Josh Bynes and Albert McClellan as the top contenders.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

ugh... SEC is really starting to annoy me. They produce some good players but A LOT of them are head cases.

just the math of it felt. Because they send so many players is why it seems they have more knuckleheads.

I think I read the SEC West had as many players drafted as any other conference total.

    that's strong.

23 passes defended in 41 games. That's pretty impressive for a linebacker. Hell, that's impressive for a Steeler defensive back.
As many on this site think ... The Rooney's suck, Colbert sucks, Tomlin sucks, the coaches suck, and the players suck.

    but Go Steelers!!!

Three NFL seasons, three arrests. That's pretty impressive for a Raider/Raven. Hell, that's impressive for anyone not directly affiliated with the Cincinnati Bengals organization.
