2013 Official Visit Thread

    Official 2013 Visit Thread
I figured it was about time for this year's annual visit thread. I enjoy this time of the year almost as much as the regular season due to all the speculation and discussion that comes with it. This thread, like past years, will hold all info on any official, local and unofficial visits by potential draft picks prior to the draft. In the past we have averaged 4 draftees from these lists so it is a good reference point to get an idea of future Steelers. Here are links to previous year's threads: 2012 2011 2010 2009

Each Team is allowed 30 official visits each year. Local schools and players that are from the local area do not count against this total. Please anyone that has any info on visits please post it to this thread and we will try and keep it in one location for easier viewing. I would also like to request a sticky if possible. Thanks in advance mods!

We didn't get all 30 officially announced like we did last year. Even with adding in the 5 visits I have termed as rumors we are still 1 visit short. If anyone has any more info or thinks I am missing something please let me know. Thank!

No EJ Manuel. No Landry Jones. No Tyler Bray. Give me this Tulane kid, Ryan Griffin, in the 6th or 7th round.

    Scheduled visit w/ #Steelers.

We can get him in as an UDFA. Has a 7th round/Free Agent grade. Here are some notes from last year:

12/13/2012 - 2012 ALL-CONFERENCE USA HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): QB-Ryan Griffin, Sr., Tulane, has been selected Honorable Mention All-Conference USA (Coaches selection) for the 2012 college football season. A native of Westlake Village, Calif., Griffin completed his standout career ranked among the school's top-10 leaders in 12 difference categories. He threw for 9,036 yards and 56 touchdowns on 836-of-1,396 attempts (.600) and owns school records for completions, completion percentage and attempts and ranks second in passing yards and 300-yard games (10) and fourth in touchdown passes.

This season, he missed three and half games, but still passed for 2,771 yards and 20 touchdowns, which ranked seventh and 10th, respectively, among the schools single season leaders. Griffin's 308 passing yards per game this season is the second-best total in a single season, trailing only Patrick Ramsey's 310 per game in 1999. - Tulane football

    I still want Tyler Bray.

if we like Griffin then we should select him in the 7th round because once he is an UDFA you have to compete for his services with every other NFL team.

Mike Tomlin was at WVU pro day. He likely was there to watch Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey. Austin is a first round WR and Stedman a third rounder.
