The Steelers signed wide receiver Kashif Moore today to Reserve/Future contract for the 2013 season.

Moore originally signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Connecticut on May 2, 2012. He spent training camp with the Bengals but was released prior to the start of the 2012 season. Moore then spent parts of the 2012 season on the practice squads of the Houston Texans, San Diego Chargers and Indianapolis Colts.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

    That's great news!

Teams keep getting better (especially in our division) and we keep getting worse.

    Overview

Moore is a fast, undersized receiver out of Connecticut who teams will want to take a late shot on in the draft simply to see if he can channel his inner-Johnny Knox and become more than a combine-speed guy. Moore has good quickness off the line of scrimmage and is good to secure the ball when running deep. Although he has great speed, he uses it more effectively running quick, intermediate routes than he does running deep to extend the field. He has late-round value due to his speed if teams can look past his size.
    Analysis

    Strengths

Moore is quick off the ball and stemming to get into his route. He is a very sharp route runner who makes extremely quick movements. When he sticks his foot in the ground, the corner is usually laboring right past him due to the effectiveness of his cuts. This helps Moore in his short-route game, and he is more effective working here than he is running deep. For his size, he is good to catch the ball across the middle and doesn't worry about getting hit; he has strong hands and is reliable when the ball is thrown within the radius of his small frame. Weaknesses

Moore is an undersized receiver who actually doesn't even use his speed to extend the field, which he will have to do to make it in the NFL. He can struggle if jammed early at the line and labors to adjust and torque his body when running in-phase. He can separate from defenders but struggles to get his eyes up after breaking off routes to locate the quarterback and secure a catch.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

    Light up the darkness.

After seeing what Raven's Boldin, & Atlanta's Jones & White have done I am hoping we can get a physical body on the WR roster. Looks like we have plenty slot receivers.

Not sure why the gloom and doom over this signing. The Steelers took a flyer on a WR to a Futures contract. It's not as if he's going to be lining up in the slot on Kickoff Weekend and make or break the 2013 season.

    Relax.....
