Linebacker Kion Wilson, who played five games for the Carolina Panthers during the 2011 season, signed a reserve/future contract with the Steelers on Monday.
Wilson wasn‘t on an NFL roster this season. He originally signed with the Chargers in 2010 as an undrafted rookie free agent from South Florida. He forced a fumble on special teams during three games that season.
Wilson had 171 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and 121⁄2 tackles for losses in two seasons at South Florida, where defensive coordinator Joe Tresey called him “the toughest player I have ever coached.”
