Raid the Detroit Lions again: Sammie Lee Hill

    220px-Sammie_Hill.JPG

    6'4 330 lb man beast.

Has proven he can stuff the run. He can step in day one and be a NT in this system. He is fairly young at 26 years of age and can probably be had for a decent contract.

We all know how much Kevin Colbert likes Detroit Lions players.

That would give us Hill/Mclendon/Ta'amu at the position.

We'll be able to clear enough room for one decent signing, if the Steelers so choose. Also depends on what happens with Lewis.

Not against the idea, by the way.

I remember looking at him in that 2009 draft...

He started a lot his rookie year, but not much afterward...

I don't know how well he fits in Detroit's 4-3, but he may be a good LeBeau ZB 3-4 NT...

He's got a 1 yr $1.26M contract. Maybe Hampton can pony up a part of his pay?

I suggested going after Hill as a potential Hampton replacement shortly after the Lions drafted Nick Fairley (when they already had Suh and Corey Williams at DT).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
