Cap will be 121 Million dollars

Ouch. It will maybe be about 400,000 more than last year.

This team has major cap problems.

    How would you solve them?

Which is why Mr. Wallace will be elsewhere! Not a surprise which is why he likely passed on the only $8M contract available for a WR.

Based on 2012 performance, there are plenty of players that should take a pay cut.... starting with Woodley, then Ben Roethlisberger, and Willie Colon. Mendenhall should not be offered any more than top 15 pay. Harrison and Troy should consider restructures. Hampton should not be on the roster unless it is vet minimum.

Yep, the Steelers will be 29 million dollars over the cap. Here is a list of the Unrestricted FA for the Steelers:

    Will Allen
    Baron Batch
    Charlie Batch
    Plaxico Burress
    Larry Foote
    Ramon Foster
    Casey Hampton
    Brandon Johnson
    Justin King
    Byron Leftwich
    Doug Legursky
    Keenan Lewis
    Ryan Mundy
    Leonard Pope
    Mike Wallace
    Rashard Mendenhall
    Max Starks
    Greg Warren
    Al Woods

    Restricted FA:

    Jonathan Dwyer
    Steve Mclendon
    Isaac Redman
    Emmanuel Sanders
    Stevenson Sylvestor
    Josh Victorian

Of the URFA, I would only try to sign Keenan Lewis (A MUST), Max Starks, and maybe Will Allen.

On the Restricted FA's. What do you tender them at? They add to the cap figure because they are one year tenders. Do you sign any of them to long term deals?

Roethlisberger deserves a pay cut? Seriously? Do you realize what they pay top QB's in this league now? His 8 year, $102 million contract is more than reasonable.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

We actually need to look into doing a true extension and reducing his cap hit that way instead of just restructuring.

That would be fine by me.

I'd try to work out deals with the following.

    Will Allen
    Baron Batch
    Plaxico Burress
    Larry Foote
    Ramon Foster
    Casey Hampton
    Keenan Lewis
    Mike Wallace
    Rashard Mendenhall
    Max Starks
    Jonathan Dwyer
    Steve Mclendon
    Isaac Redman
    Emmanuel Sanders
    Josh Victorian

The big question is who can save us some money?

The savings have to come from vet restructures and cuts.
