Those mid-90's Steelers had a stretch in which they lost 4 out of 5 games during the only season that they made it to the Super Bowl in 1995, to the Dolphins in week 3, Vikings in week 4, Jaguars in week 6, and Bengals in week 8 (there was also a week 7 bye in there as well), teams that ended up being 9-7, 8-8, 4-12, and 7-9, respectively that season.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I remember it well. The last loss before they got their crap together was to Cinci in a Thurs. night game, making them 3-4. But from then on, they got on a roll. That is hardly the same thing as going 1-4 with only 2 games left though. Let's put things in the proper perspective, please.

Oh, you want perspective? The Giants were on a 1-4 slide with only two games left last season.

Now, granted, we have had mad injuries, but, 1-4 in the last 5 games is not the sign of a decent team, at all. We are starting our 4th and 5th string CBs. Troy is still not himself. Our only offense, even with a brand new OC and system, still really relies on when Ben buys times and goes all "back yard football" in order to make things happen (how is that any different than when BA was here?)

It _appears_ that Cinci is the better team heading into this match, and if they win, we are toast. But, that's why they play the game. Some how Pgh is a 4-point favorite heading into this game. If they do win this one, I do like their chances of beating CLE the last week. On the bright side, Ben should be a level better, Troy and Harrison starting to round into shape. Will Lewis be back? Allen? We got to get some DBs back to have a prayer.
We are the best worst team in football and the worst best team wrapped up in a ball of hot garbage right now. Watching these guys is downright painful.

We're a victim of horrible circumstances. This series of event will never be repeated - although they seemed to be replayed somehow week in and week out. But even amongst this mess, there's a glimmer of hope. Guys are playing just good enough to keep us in games. We just need a little good fortune to get over a hump.

Some weaknesses can't be fixed. And we're dealing with those. But if the leaders on this team can just make a few plays, then we are capable of overcoming the weaknesses.

How would any team do in our circumstance? It's not just a handful of normal injuries. It's groups of injuries happening simultaneously at certain positions. OL, CBs, QBs, WRs, etc. And we're having bunches of problems like fumbling, flags, ST, etc.

We're due for a little good fortune at some point.
