Something for nothing? They fronted the risk and built the league and gave the players the opportunity to make their millions in return. Something for nothing? That's ridiculous.

Exactly right. People want to blame Goodell, but his is a reaction to who-knows-how-many injury lawsuits, and sad stories he's been presented. We've heard the Ted Johnson's and the Dave Duerson's, but what else does the league know? It must be pretty sobering, if they're doing all that they're doing, including thinking about changing the kickoff rule. I really think people are being short-sighted, in vilifying him.

I am in agreement that his dictatorial control over present league matters is problematice (that he is judge/jury/executioner). But he's not stupid. He knows what the "traditional" NFL fan is going to say about this, and about all the other safety measures he's trying to institute.

    well-stated and I completely agree...
Steel Maniac's Time-Based Prediction: Lamar Jackson will be a bust and total flop in the NFL.

What Actually Happened: Lamar Jackson became the youngest two-time NFL MVP winner ever.

Seriously? Do you think that the players don't understand the risks?

They get paid way too much money....if the risk is not worth it to them, then they should find another job and see how the real world lives....

The problem is that they spend all their money and can't take care of themselves afterwards...then they sue and expect someone else to handle their issues....

Seems to be a common theme in this country...

4th and 15 after a score would benefit us. What's more likely when you need possession after a score:

    1. Getting an onside kick.

    or

    2. Ben converting a 4th and 15.

Given Ben's 3rd down conversion rate, we'd likely be the best at keeping the ball after a score when needed. I like the concept.
