Ben Has Separated Shoulder

Report: Roethlisberger has “unusual” separated shoulder

A quarterback with an unusual reputation for embellishing injuries now has an unusual injury.

Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reports that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered a separated shoulder during Monday night’s game against the Chiefs. Per Cole, one source described the injury as “unusual.”

Roethlisberger was taken to a local hospital for an MRI during the game. It’s unknown whether he’ll miss Sunday night’s visit from the Ravens.

It’ll be the first of two games against Baltimore in a 14-day period.

Roethlisberger is having one of the best seasons of his career, with teammates openly politicking for MVP consideration. The Steelers could find out quickly how valuable he is; if the offense sputters against the Ravens like it did against the Chiefs in an overtime win that was secured by the Pittsburgh defense, the Steelers will once again be jockeying for wild-card position come late December.

    Oh boy.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger went to the locker room, then out of Heinz Field, with a right shoulder injury during the third quarter of a 16-13 overtime victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Roethlisberger didn't return to the game, and a Steelers source told NFL.com and NFL Network's Albert Breer that the initial diagnosis on the quarterback is a sprained right shoulder.

The Steelers are awaiting results on Roethlisberger's MRI and should know more about his injury Tuesday.

Roethlisberger landed on his throwing shoulder after being sacked by Chiefs pass rushers Justin Houston and Tamba Hali and quickly was evaluated by the Steelers' staff. Roethlisberger originally was listed as questionable to return, but Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette later reported the quarterback went to a local hospital to undergo an MRI.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin confirmed after the game that Roethlisberger left the stadium, but the coach didn't know to where and how severe the injury was. The team source told Breer after midnight ET that Roethlisberger was home.

Byron Leftwich entered the game for Roethlisberger, who later was shown by ESPN cameras without his shoulder pads after going for further tests. Leftwich, who hadn't played in an NFL game since the Steelers' 2010 regular-season finale, was 7-of-14 passing for 73 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.

Roethlisberger made news in August by revealing he had a small tear in his rotator cuff. It's uncertain if this injury is connected. He looked healthy throughout the season until now.

Also, reading some internet rumors that his wife went into labor last night and that's why he left with her...she was due "within the next 2 weeks".

Also rumored that Hampton is the illegitimate son of the Cheifs head coach. After all, the coaches name is Romeo.

And POP goes the weasel. I didn't think the fall looked too bad last night. Ben didn't appear to be hurting too bad when they showed him coming out of the locker room and into the cart, so I suppose that's good news. Not too much drama.....

What a warrior, to play with a baby in his tummy!

That being said, he is a whore... to play with a baby in his tummy every year, he's a baby machine.

I didn't think the fall looked all that bad either. Not to mention he fell on a wet, muddy grass field.. More give and take than that crap thats down in Baltimore and elsewhere. We'll see. I think its just a sprain and he'll be listed as questionable for B-more.
