    November 9. 2012 - EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. --

Victor Cruz said earlier this week he didn't think the hit from Ryan Clark that had knocked the wind out of him in the end zone this past Sunday should've been a personal foul.

    Apparently, the NFL agrees.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' safety was not fined by the league for whacking the New York Giants' wide receiver in the end zone on what was a failed third down until the flag flew, giving the Giants a first-and-goal from the 1-yard line.

Running back Andre Brown scored on the next play to give the Giants a touchdown that tied the game instead of a field goal that only would've pulled them within four points.

Cruz remained on the ground through a commercial break, which led viewers to believe he was badly injured. He got back up and returned to the game on the next drive. Clark delivered the shot to Cruz's torso, not his helmet. Though it came as cornerback Ike Taylor broke up the pass underneath Cruz, the league didn't have a problem with Clark's hit.

However, that doesn't mean the Giants got all of the breaks on Sunday. In the first quarter, a pass for Cruz on a crossing route was broken up by Keenan Lewis. After the ball fell incomplete, Steelers safety Will Allen slammed Cruz and knocked him to the ground. Allen was fined $7,875 for a late hit, which means the league believes a flag should've been thrown.

Allen wasn't penalized, and the Giants punted.

Elsewhere in the NFC, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was fined $7,875 for going low on a blocker on an interception return for a TD on Monday night.

Also, Carolina Panthers safety Haruki Nakamura was fined $21,000 for a hit to the head and neck area of Washington Redskins wide receiver Josh Morgan. Nakamura was penalized for a personal foul.

The Green Bay Packers' Ryan Taylor was not flagged for a blind-side hit on a punt return, but he was fined $21,000 by the league office

What about the clear helmet to helmet on Wallace while he was on the ground? NFL blows. Suck it Roger.
