    Roster Moves

    According to reports on twitter from various beat writers:

    Steelers signed Jacques McClendon to practice squad and released Jamie McCoy from practice squad. McClendon is a 2010 fourth round pick of Colts from Tennessee.

    Also signed Corbin Bryant to take Ta'amu's roster spot during suspension.

    If Pouncey cannot practice on Friday, they are expected to activate Malecki from the PS.

    For a second I thought they'd announce that they're going to start Steve McLendon and Cameron Heyward this week.

    mclendon was part of the Tennessee 2007 OL that allowed an NCAA record low 3 sacks in 519 attempts, as was ramon foster.

    probably just a body, but interesting nonetheless.

    Steelers Promote John Malecki to Active Roster; Release Corbin Bryant

    The Steelers promoted offensive lineman John Malecki to their active roster, the team announced today. Malecki will wear No. 62.

    Malecki has been on the Steelers’ practice squad for the first six weeks of the 2012 season. He spent a total of five weeks on the Steelers’ practice squad in 2011. Malecki originally signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Pittsburgh on April 26, 2010.

    To make room for Malecki on the active roster, the Steelers released defensive lineman Corbin Bryant.

    With Pouncey questionable, Steelers promote a blocker

    With injuries mounting and center Maurkice Pouncey questionable for Sunday’s game against the Bengals, the Steelers made a roster move Saturday.

    The team announced they promoted offensive lineman John Malecki to the active roster, releasing defensive lineman Corbin Bryant to make room.

    Malecki, a University of Pittsburgh product, has been on their practice squad parts of the last two seasons, after going to camp with the Titans as an undrafted rookie in 2010.

    Pouncey has been optimistic about his chances of playing despite his knee injury, but the Steelers are also without tackle Marcus Gilbert, knocking them down to six other healthy bodies prior to the transaction.

    Nothing against Malecki but I was hoping for some PT for Ryan Lee...
