Juan Castillo dimissed by Philadelphia Eagles

Okay, I'll go first........Sure he has no credentials, and he coaches a 4-3, and he failed at that despite a star studded lineup......But we should bring him here because he is not Dick Lebeau.

This hiring was never particularly popular with the fans either.

I'd be fine with bringing Castillo to Pittsburgh - as an assistant offensive line coach. He was a good offensive line coach with the Eagles and seemed to be an overall bright, decent guy. He just was not a particularly good defensive coordinator.

A scapegoat firing. The Philly D had 3 games where they gave up points in the teens (16, 16, 17) and 3 games where they gave up points in the twenties (23, 26, 27) in spite of Michael Vick turning the ball over roughly 47 kajillion times this season, which would put the defense in peril by granting the opposition excellent starting field position quite often. Andy's trying to save his own neck by undeservedly passing the blame to someone else.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Andy didn't do Castillo any favors when he hired Washburn to coach the D-Line either...

Washburn is a renowned D-Line coach, but his particular style wasn't well suited to the Eagles' personnel and scheme last year...Washburn likes to line up his DEs in the now infamous "Wide 9", where the DEs are waaaay outside the OTs...when he did it in Tennessee, he had an All-Pro caliber LB named Keith Bulluck...last year, in Philly, he didn't...this year, there has been some improvement at LB...

Castillo's D even allowed less than 30% of 3rd downs to be converted this year...

    Maybe San Diego is interested...
