The question not being asked in the rush to find a way to diminish Worilds performance is that if the defensive play called resulted in a free run in on Manning how come we didn't see that again the rest of the game either from the left or right side?

We did ... Denver decided to block it the next 5 times we tried.
As many on this site think ... The Rooney's suck, Colbert sucks, Tomlin sucks, the coaches suck, and the players suck.

    but Go Steelers!!!

James Harrison could be out until October

By now, it's assumed that Steelers linebacker James Harrison won't play Sunday against the New York Jets. Pittsburgh, however, might be without the 2008 NFL Defensive Player of the Year until October.

According to a tweet by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac, Harrison isn't expected to play until after the team's Week 4 bye. Under that timetable, Harrison would be back for the Oct. 7 game against the Eagles.

Harrison is officially listed as questionable for today's game even though he didn't practice all week.

In his previous five seasons, Harrison has only missed five games because of injury. If this report is correct, Harrison would be sidelined for the first three games of the 2012 season.

Harrison, 34, had arthroscopic knee surgery on Aug. 15 even though the injury had sidelined him during offseason workouts in the spring. Since the 2007 season, the Steelers are 5-2 without Harrison.

Last season, when Harrison missed five games (four due to injury and one because of a suspension), linebacker LaMarr Woodley picked up the slack in Harrison's absence with 7.5 sacks.

For all the hate Worilds gets, he does do well when given chances, e.g. #2 last year in QB pressures.
Nice try but he was unblocked, and Worilds has shown very little against the run. Seems to be one of these speed rushers that teams can simply run the ball at to negate.

So? He still got the lick on Manning...

Joey Porter got more than half his sacks when unblocked, and people ate it up...

    Exactly.
He didn't practice at all this week. I've never known the NFL to be a league where you can't practice all week, yet be ready to play A GAME on Sunday. It's wishful thinking.

I personally would love to see the timeline as shown above (not returning 'til after bye week). Giving Harrison (an older player) what amounts to a shortened season could serve to keep him fresh all the way through a presumed playoff run.

I also, despite my eyes watching last week, want to see Chris Carter succeed. Giving him another opportunity to swim (or sink) would be good for him, if not the team.
