He tore apart the 49ers. Took a shot and lived. Etc.
In the Broncos final tune up, Peyton looks ready to go 14-2 in the regular season or somewhere in that neighborhood.
This is gonna be a tough game.

I'm sure to Lamarr Woodley, he looks more like a juicy steak.
Manning will always shred vanilla D's not getting in his face. When Wood or Timmons rocks his world just once...he will unravel. Trust me, he is more scared of us...then we are of him at this point. Tough game yes...but I suspect he will struggle if we can get pressure on him.
Trolls are people too.
Peyton seemed to take a pretty good hit and survive:

I'm not thinking that Peyton will simply fall apart by a gust of cool mountain air. I also don't expect him to injure as easily as our own Charlie Batch or Byron Leftwich. It's hard to win against a formidable foe in their own crib without your starting SS and a possibility of no Deebo.
I don't see how anyone didn't think that this is a tough game that we could very well lose.
I honestly think that Troy and LeBeau are the keys to beating Manning. You've got to give him a couple of looks that he's never seen before. But more importantly, I think you have to line up in the defense he'd expect the Steelers to be in for that particular down and distance, then throw him a curve ball at the last second. Le Beau is going to have to design a few new wrinkles and Troy has the capability to sell one look and get somewhere completely different at the snap of the ball. Manning does so much film study that you have to beat him at his own game. When he starts becoming indecisive, the pass rush will get to him. At that point, it is over.
We've only played against PM a handful of times. And for some reason, he seems to struggle a bit against our 3-4. Not sure why really?
I was thinking he might be a little anxious. A little overhyped. Throw a couple of bad balls out of the gate. And he was a little off the first 2 weeks of preseason. But I saw him and he looked pretty comfy. I wasn't sure he was going to be back to pre injury Peyton. But his arm looks good. His physical game is still there. So you know he'll be mentally prepared.
If he wasn't so inconsistent in the playoffs, the Broncos look like they should be heavy SuperBowl favorites.
All that said, now we'll probably shut them out.
No Smitty, No Keisel, No Hampton, No Harrison, No Farrior....
We might not be getting as much pressure as usual.
Although I like seeing Cortez getting to go after the QB a few times. And I suspect we may have to use a little more press coverage to get some more time to pressure the QB. And now we have 3 big CBs for press coverage.
We'll probably also have to blitz a bit to get some pressure.
