I'll need to change my screen name soon...

...because I'm moving back to the 'Burgh! For those that read my recent NHL thread, you saw that I was in town on July 11th for interviews. Well, long story short, based on events that happened that day, I accepted a Senior level position with a company in Mt. Lebanon this week and will start on the 13th. We're going out there this weekend to look at some rental houses (we are in NO way ready to sell our house yet and will have to do the two house thing for a while, unfortunately) and hopefully get all settled in by the end of the month. Just in time for us to meet up with the rest of our clan at Myrtle Beach in September as we watch the Ben and company beat up on the Donkeys!

Anyway, money will be a little tight for a while until things settle down, so no games at Heinz Field for us right now. I do hope that I can make it down to one of the tailgates even if I'm not going to the game. Until then, we'll watch on local TV (yay!) and I'll have to think of a new screen name before the 13th. Any ideas are welcome

Congrats...if you change your screen name from something more Pittsburgh-related rather than Columbus-related, I won't confuse you with buckeyehoppy anymore.

Good, as I'm the furthest thing from a Buckeye fan that you can find!

Anyway, thanks for the replies. Still looking for the right place to live, which is an adventure in itself, but we'll get there. With the Marcellus Shale development and other industries building up there recent, I've found that nice rental houses go pretty quick. We literally saw one house Saturday morning we liked, called the realtor yesterday afternoon to submit our application, and found out someone else already did. Ouch. Either way, I'll be there next week. Can't wait!

Well, the news keeps getting better! As it turned out, the people that submitted the application before us for the house we wanted were moving a little too slow for the realtor. So, I get a call on Monday about this and the realtor wanted to know if we were still interested. Oh yes! So, I overnighted our application and whatnot to the realtor, which arrived yesterday. About an hour ago, I got a call that we were approved and can move into the house this weekend! The plan is to get out there by Sunday afternoon with the bare essentials, unpack, get the kids acclamated, and have my first day of my new job the next day. A lot to do, but will definitely be worth it! I'll keep you guys updated on how things go. Looking forward to getting to a tailgate this year if I can make it!

Sometimes I love it. But other times it's maddening.

There are some words I'll completely screw up that it will somehow know what I meant. But for every time that happens, it autocorrects something I don't want it to 4 or 5 times. It's like MSFT designed that feature for Apple.

Sounds awesome, CSF...glad everything worked out. Much better to have a place already when you start your job rather than living in a hotel apart from your family for a few weeks until you find a new house that everyone likes. Congrats on everything! Now's the hectic part...

Thanks. Well, unfortunately, we can't get the house until Wednesday, so I'm staying with friends for a few days until then. Regardless, it'll be wrapped up soon and we'll be settled back in the 'Burgh full time. Fortunately, the FIOS box is already in the house, so I should be online not long after we move in. And it'll be nice to have the pre-season games on TV again!
