It looks like the steelers have a ton of WR's.
Marquis Maze sounds interesting on his wiki page. Any info on him? Maybe another Sanders? He sounds like Brown more after reading on draftscout.

Steelers announce a dozen rookie free agents, including Marquis Maze
Posted by Mike Florio on April 29, 2012
The Steelers are the latest team to disclose the acquisition of rookie free agents who have signed with the team after the conclusion of the draft.
The 12 new Steelers are: P Drew Butler (Georgia); CB Terry Carter (Louisian Tech); WR Connor Dixon (Duquesne); S Robert Golden (Arizona); DE Ikponmwosa Igbinosun (Southern Connecticut State); C/G Ryan Lee (Furman); LB Brandon Lindsey (Pitt); WR Marquis Maze (Alabama); K Grant Ressel (Missouri); LB Adrian Robinson (Temple); OT Desmond Stapleton (Rutgers); and DE Jake Stoller (Yale).
Maze is the most intriguing of the bunch. A receiver and return specialist who was a key member of the Alabama offense and special teams, Maze could provide a significant spark for the Steelers — if he first can make the team.

Steel Maniac's Time-Based Prediction: Lamar Jackson will be a bust and total flop in the NFL.
What Actually Happened: Lamar Jackson became the youngest two-time NFL MVP winner ever.
Gloat gloat gloat
Boom........
Hahahahahahaha
Thanks HS. But I was thinking maybe Deedub or SKL had some insight. Heck anyone's insight from this board.

I think there is going to be some KR/PR competition in camp/preseason.
Yup...with Brown entrenched as a starting WR now, we'll need some quality return men...should be fun to watch the likes Chris Rainey, Marquis Maze, Derrick Williams, etc. returning kicks and punts in Latrobe (certainly better than the days when we had Mewelde Moore fair catching punts or Gary Russell/Najeh Davenport rumbing/bumbling/stumbling on a kickoff return).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
Maze is just a guy at the NFL level. He does not have long speed and is very small. He was a reliable chain mover for Alabama and has very good body control and quickness. He will likely struggle against NFL defensive backs. Rainey will likely beat him out as KR/PR.
We do have a wide open competition for the 5th and perhaps 6th spot (if we keep a 6th) WR on this team.
Derrick Williams, Marquis Maze, Toney Clemons, Juamorris Stewart, Jimmy Young and a few others will all have a shot to earn a spot on this team. Special teams coverage or return unit value will be a huge plus.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.
I loved Maze at Alabama. The guy made plays time after time on the biggest stages. I think he makes the team if they keep 6 WR's.
I'm intrigued, but he shoulda signed somewhere else. He's gonna have a hard time given that the Steelers drafted He Hate Me II.
