If Tannehill is still on the board

...which I don't think he will be.....but if he is..I think the Steelers trade out and draft Silatalou. Hell even if they don't trade out Silatalou is still a strong first round possibility.

2012 NFL Mock Draft: Steelers Pick Up Offensive Lineman From Midwestern State

    Apr 24
    by Joel Thorman

With the 56th pick in SB Nation's 2012 NFL mock draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select Midwestern State OL Amini Silatolu.

You must be good if you're a second round pick out of little Midwestern State. Silatolu fits in well with the Steelers offense and would be a good pick here.

SB Nation's Behind The Steel Curtain explains the pick:

After restocking at linebacker with the selection of Dont'a Hightower, it's time to turn attention back to the Steelers' most obvious area of need -- along the offensive line. Outside of Maurkice Pouncey, the two-time Pro Bowl center who has already cemented his status as one of the game's very best, the Steelers could upgrade any and all other positions. None more so than at guard where the team has received average, and at times awful, play for several years now.

Enter Amini Silatolu, the raw but promising guard out of unknown Midwestern State. Despite having played against lesser competition, Silatolu's upside and potential is easy to identify. The fact that he could potentially develop into a competent right tackle makes him even more intriguing considering the uncertainty of Willie Colon's ability to stay healthy. I suppose the Steelers might be taking a big gamble on a prospect that has yet to show his mettle against the country's best athletes, but the need is certainly there and the possibility of him blossoming into something special makes Silatolu worth the gamble in my mind.

I'm all for OL in Round 1 but Silatalou has a big jump to make in competition. I'd rather have someone like Zeitler who has played against the big boys and done well. He more fits the big school, big competition player Colberts gets in Round 1.

Highly unlikely he is available when we pick in Round 2. I like him too.

you may be right ovi, but researching alot of sites he has a good chance of being there.

he most certainly will be gone by round 3 where some have him mocked.

if we could get brooks in the 2nd and nix in the 4th, i would be stoked.

I was one of the folks that had Brooks to us in round 3, but changed that because his stock is rising. But it is not rising to the point that it is "highly unlikely" that he makes it to us in round 2. Remember, Brooks didn't even get a combine invite (they invite over 300 prospects, and he didn't make that list). Right now, I see Zeitler as an early 2nd, Silatolu as a mid 2nd, and Brooks as a late 2nd.

I really like Brooks. But, Silatolu is plain nasty. He is a Steeler type. He'd be an instant fan favorite and would raise the intensity on our line.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

Tannehill sliding would be great for us. Teams out of the first round will want to jump into that later portion of Rd 1.
