FWIW, I've seen Massie on one or two mock drafts in the first round. Mind you, it wasn't as high as the Steelers pick. But my logic has always been that a pick isn't a reach if you need the player and his talent for what you need is somewhere in the ball park of the pick. The draft order is what it is. Every year, there is at least one or two players in the first round who go to a team with a specific need who wouldn't have been picked in the next half dozen or more picks afterward.

One thing to keep in mind: 20% of any team is taken up by the OL. If you really need quality players on your line (let's face it: the Steelers probably do) then using high draft picks for the line becomes a necessity. If your line is okay, then you can get away with a couple at the end of the draft and if they pan out, great. Also, because we run the 3-4, LBs are also a priority. And, as the saying goes, you can never have too many good LBs. That's particularly true with the Steelers.
We could be looking at a curve ball, Ovie. It looks like the Steelers could be looking to move Worilds inside. There's always a chance that someone like Glenn could be there when we are on the clock (that doesn't appear likely now, but who knows?). We'll see. After the middle of the 2nd, there's a really precipitous drop off in talent quality at ILB. Seeing that we draft near the bottom of each round, that was where most of my logic was in a Hightower choice. But the Steelers have a very good 1st Round track record under Colbert, so who am I to argue with their choice? Like I said, we'll see.

BTW, I need to make my travel arrangements for the home games this year. Earmarking the Philly and Baltimore games! Nothing in concrete yet, tho.
