Updated Post Combine: Mock of Ages III

Round 1: Donta Hightower, ILB Alabama

A beast of a 265lb inside linebacker. Knows the 3-4 very well. Can pressure up the middle or on the edge on passing downs. Coverage ability could be a liability, but the stars seem to be lining up with him. He has all of the attributes of a Colbert/Tomlin first round pick.

Round 2: Brandon Brooks, OG Miami of Ohio

The big offensive lineman measured 6-foot-5 and weighed 346 pounds. He completed 36 reps on the bench press, a number exceeded by just one offensive lineman at the combine. The same can be said for Brooks' 4.98 40 time, which included a 10-yard split of 1.71 seconds. Only Donald Stephenson ran faster at the combine. His vertical jump of 32 inches and broad jump of 8-feet, 9-inches were also superb. The 4.52 short shuttle time beat all marks from the offensive linemen who ran in Indianapolis.

    Round 3:Hebron Fangupo NT BYU

A riser after the combine and as teams dig in to his tape. He can contribute year one at NT with Mclendon.

A man in the middle. He was a USC trojan recruit, but left when it became apparent that he was not able to keep his family safe in L.A.

Round 4: Robert Turbin RB Utah State

A 5'9" 220lb running back that can power run with the best of them. He is better than Clay and the out of shape Georgia Tech running back. Plus he's green.

Round 5: James Brown, OT Troy

A raw developmental tackle prospect who can play both guard and tackle. With some coaching he could develop into a good swing player who can come in and start.

Round 6: Bryan Anger P Cal

Can punt the crap out of the ball and fixes our Sepulveda problem.

Round 7: Chad Diehl FB Clemson

A true fullback. 265lbs of linebacker stuffing meat. Ha ha.

That concludes the Mock of Ages III.
    Here comes the BOOM!

Re: Mock of Ages II: A full 7

As you can see in my sig, I'm down with your first pick.

Actually, I like a lot of this draft. I even like Fangupo. I will say that I don't think he'll be too helpful in year one. I've watched him at BYU. He has good athleticism and has natural strength, but his technique is sloppy. He actually played a lot of 3-4 DE this season.

Turbin and Wagner are Steelers types.

Instead of Nix, I would have added a player to help with our pass defense. Either a pass rusher or a DB. I'm not sure Nix would beat out Ramon Foster.

Overall, well done. Might be the best realistic mock I've seen so far.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

I haven't seen an evaluation or scouting report yet that has Konz as a Round 1 talent. Maybe Round 2, but I have only seen a few sources so far so maybe I'm wrong.

I also think we need a Place Kicker way more than a punter. Kapinos was more than fine. I like the Diehl pick but need a TE to force D. Johnson off the roster.

He'll fall no further than the Ravens. They are in desperate need of a Center and Konz is the best of the bunch.

Don't make Robert Turbin angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Neither one of those sites have evaluated Junior prospects fully yet. They wait until after the combine. The first post announcement event that Juniors can participate in.
