Bad/Sad News: Steelers Coach Badly Burned In Seven Fields...

    Posted: 7:41 am EST January 6, 2012Updated: 10:04 am EST January 6, 2012
SEVEN FIELDS, Pa. -- Channel 11 News has learned that the running backs coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers was badly burned in a house fire in Seven Fields, Butler County.

The fire started shortly before 3 a.m. on Friday along Jameson Way.

Kirby Wilson, 50, was flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital. There is no word on his condition.

Wilson is in his fifth season with Steelers. The team is preparing for its wild card playoff game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

"About 2:45 a.m., I was awoken by a number of pounding on doors,” said neighbor David Sebesta. “Looked out my window, and there was policemen, about five or six, going down this row of houses, waking people up. I could smell burning. Fire trucks came and pulled a man out, looked like he was pretty badly burned, and carted him off to a hospital."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

It feels like we are cursed.

    Praying for him.

As if Ike Redman wasn't already pumped enough for his first career start in a playoff game...now he'll have the extra motivation of winning one for his position coach. Hope all goes well for the Wilson family.

The Rams' offense featuring weapons such as Marshall Faulk, Torrey Holt, and Isaac Bruce were known as "The Greatest Show on Turf"

The Steelers' offense featuring weapons such as Le'Veon Bell and Martavis Bryant should be known as "The Greatest Show on Grass"

This has nothing at all to do with respective playing surfaces at the Edward Jones Dome vs. Heinz Field.

I just read on Wexell's forum that he has been put into a medically induced coma, he will be ok though with 30% burns on his body...

Sounds bad, but ultimately should be good news...

Again, just another element of the perfect storm that seems to be forming against us for this weekend. You could not script a believeable conspiracy novel with this many things going wrong for us at the worst possible time.
