Re: McQueary stopped Sandusky that night - per McQueary

What did everyone think they were gaining by trying to keep it on the hush ? Don't these idiots know that everyone gets eventually caught or eventually these kids would complain once they get older ?

Not only is Sandusky a monster and the other surrounding people are low lifes for trying to sweep it under the carpet, they're stupid on top of it all. How did these idiots make it so far in life is beyond me.

There should be a police report to corroborate that story, no?

Provided the police weren't part of the cover-up; State College is a small town and the Penn State football program is the 500 pound gorilla in the room. Police reports can be made to disappear.

Re: McQueary stopped Sandusky that night - per McQueary

Did he go to the real cops or the campus police?

Or does he consider JoePa the police of all things PSU football?

I think his story is being made up just like Sandusky's story. If these guys were willing to cover up child rape for so long, wouldn't they likely be willing to continue making stuff up to cover up what really happened?

People who lie and cover things up typically continue on that same path. We tend to do what we're good at. These guys have been lying to themselves so long, they probably believe the BS they're making up.

Dishonesty is clearly ingrained in the PSU culture. I'm going to have a hard time believing anything any of these guys say at this point.

What's in it for these guys to tell the truth?

Penn State’s Mike McQueary speaks, tells CBS he is ‘shaken’

    By Cindy Boren
    11/15/2011

Mike McQueary, the wide receivers coach who has played a central — if as yet uncertain — role in the Penn State child sex-abuse scandal, spoke with CBS News in his first public comments, but offered no further explanation for what he might have seen Jerry Sandusky do to a child in 2002.

“This process has to play out,” McQueary told Armen Keteyian, who had asked McQueary when he would be willing to talk. “I just don’t have anything else to say.”

Asked to describe his emotions, he replied: “All over the place. Just kind of shaken.”

    Keteyian: “Crazy?”

    McQueary: “Crazy.”

Keteyian: “You said what [earlier], like a ...?”

    McQueary: “Snow globe.”

    Keteyian: “Like a snow globe.”

    McQueary: “Yes, sir.”

McQueary told a grand jury that, when he was a graduate assistant in 2002, he saw Sandusky rape a young boy in a locker room shower. According to the grand jury report, he contacted his father and then coach Joe Paterno. He was criticized for his alleged inaction and, because of threats against him, was not on the field for Penn State’s game Saturday against Nebraska. He is on leave from the university.

Keteyian said that McQueary told him off camera, of his concerns for his safety and for his coaching future.

McQueary e-mailed a friend, according to the Associated Press, that he stopped the assault and went to police. The e-mail, dated Nov. 8 and written from McQueary’s Penn State account, was given to the AP by the friend. “I am getting hammered for handling this the right way ... or what I thought at the time was right,” McQueary wrote. “I had to make tough impacting quick decisions.”

On Monday, he e-mailed ex-teammates. “I did the right thing,” McQueary wrote, according to NBC’s Peter Alexander. “.?.?. you guys know me .?.?. the truth is not out there fully .?.?. I didn’t just turn and run. .?.?. I made sure it stopped .?.?. I had to make quick tough decisions .?.?. ”

. Last week, his father, John, told the New York Times that McQueary was eager to tell his side of the story. “It’s not that he’s not willing,” John J. McQueary, his father, said. “I think it’s eating him up not to be able to tell his side, but he’s under investigation by the grand jury. He’ll make it. He’s a tough kid.”

The interview was the second in two days with a principal figure in the scandal. Sandusky was interviewed by Bob Costas on “Rock Center” on Monday night.

That was my theory all along Pappy... I bet most police officers would give their left foot just to be on the field for one game escorting JoePa.

The problem with McQueary's story is his Grand Jury testament. He never said anything about stopping Sandusky or going to the police back then so why should we believe him now?

Agreed. And frankly, anything less than punching Sandusky's lights out and getting that kid to the ER is an epic failure.

Frankly, the showering doesn't bother me as much. Its obviously the touching or whatever else has been done that I don't want to think about.

Have you ever been to a gym or swimming pool or YMCA. Its group showering and old men are in there buck naked scrubbing themselves head to toe. Mostly just trying to get free water. I'm a bit less comfortable in there, but men have their kids in there cleaning the chlorine off or what not. So I can see the old man just showering there syndrome. Most of us played ball of some sort and group showering is the only option at the facilities back in the day. Maybe they have private stuff now.

But anything else is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY out of bounds.

Wonder if the second mile is a money laundering front for the mafia and Sandusky in the mob. Probably pays the players out of that pool of money too. Pay the cops off. Pay the judges off.....

Actually, why would PSU cover up Sandusky's activities unless he could bring the place down? Second Mile is probably a front for how players got paid. Alumni donated to second mile, players volunteer there then get paid.
