How do you guys think our LBs did with Timmons on the end?

I was VERY pleasantly surprised at how Farrior and Foote weren't always 1 step behind. Farrior in particular seemed to have a lot of motor. I don't know if it's because they're not as slow as they seemed so far this year, or if somehow the offense that was called against them let them stay home without having to run around a lot.

    What did you guys see?

Whatever it was, it looked a hell of a lot more effective than it did against Baltimore or Houston.

Some other poster has said that he thinks OLB is a lot more natural for Timmons. I have to say I agree. It naturally fits his speed. He can be really disruptive from that position.

Timmons struggled on the outside from a pass rushing stand point. It's expected considering the move he's making.

It worked for me. We killed them and that is the goal.

Im sorry but Woodley looked like a lard. He got his stats but dont expect him to chase anyone down from behind.

Meanwhile Farrior was flying around out there.

To me the best thing about Timmons playing outside was it brought Troy up closer to cover the pass Area where Timmons normally would cover. Troy (9 tackels 3pd) was around just about Every Ball thrown to the Tight end and was a monster in the run game.

Timmons played solid but really didnt really impact the game -
on the other hand Farrior had 13 Tackles but Foot had 1t and no passes Defensed.

The big uglies won the trenches today - Line backer play was so-so as a whole.

Timmons was easily swallowed up by a lineman every time I noticed him rushing. But he did a nice job of contain and dropping into coverage.

I think he could be decent at the position in time and may have even helped the run defense from this position.

It ain't easy working with a 300 pounder draped all over you all day. It's not an easy switch. I don't think the LB core is better off with Timmons at OLB.

What I noticed is that Farrior and Foote looked much more effective yesterday to me than in the earlier games this year.

Whether that's because of Timmons being on the outside, in spite of it, or not related to that at all is something I really have no idea ... but it's an observation, FWIW.
