Do I think it's fair that I only see around 50% of my pay while others see most or all of theirs? No. But, it's life here in the US. If you do well you are demonized and taxed with a heavy hand.

The only issue I agree with is when you have uber rich who are able to skirt the tax laws. Guys like Buffet only paying 15% really gets under my skin. If I only see 50% of my pay then so should Buffet.
I may be in the minority, but I think Buffet should pay less. So should you and me and everyone else.

Buffett's money comes from capital gains. Those should not be taxed whatsoever.

Taxing income is a mafia move. You pay to be protected. That should go away too in a free society. Unless we concede gov't is legal organized crime.

If the gov't wants to raise money, they should provide a product or service and let people choose to buy it or not. That would make gov't efficient.

Run it like a legit business, not the mafia.

Well, that's worth thinking about! Having our taxes going to pay for things like the military and the State dept. is like the mafia?

Back to the OWS stuff - I also am incredibly *flowered* off at the people who cheat to enrich themselves at the expense of others. And that describes a LOT of people on Wall Street. (As well as our politicians). You don't have to be socialist or an anti-capitalist at all to feel that way.

Play by the rules and win - that's the American dream. Break the rules - that's un-American.

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!

SASF, I have to totally agree. Liberal and conservatives alike should be able to agree upon treating others well, and making an honest dollar. Cheating, tricking, running people over in the pursuit of wealth is shameful.

It's a fine line and all we can do is believe in people that they'll make the right decisions.

You could make an argument that almost everything is a rip off. I get both sides of socialism and libertarianism. But at the end of the day I figure the only way anyone will trust me with freedom is if I trust them back.

I see the difference between liberal and conservative boiling down to - liberal = trusting no one to make the right decision so feeling that you have to decide for them and conservative = trusting everyone to be able to take care of themselves.

At the end of the day, I think being conservative is the best way to be liberal if that makes any sense whatsoever.

And everyone crosses the line to some degree. And the best we can do is to try not to and get involved and help others as we are able.
