Unless someone picks them up, a bunch of those players cut today should appear on the 8-man practice squad tomorrow.

I would figure the candidates are Frank Summers, Tyler Grisham, Dough Worthington and Kraig Urbik. I’m not sure if Patrick Bailey and Joe Burnett are eligibile but if they are, you’ll probably see them there as well as Sunny Harris.

As I said, I’m little surprised by any of the cuts. I thought they might do something with Burnett. But Frank Summers has done little since he arrived here and Isaac Redman is playing fullback and halfback. They also have David Johnson and even Doug Legursky to block in the backfield.

Burnett is one small surprise, but he was surpassed this summer by rookie Crezdon Butler, who also can play safety. If Burnett does not make it, he will forever be haunted – or at least remembered – for the dropped interception vs Oakland that cost the Steelers a playoff spot.

Goodbye, Stefan Logan, who leaves with the Steelers record book for kickoff return yards. What a shame because he was not that good, no touchdowns, fumbles, etc.

I’m trying to remember the last time they kept 6 wide receivers. I could look it up but it’s Saturday night and I have to work the next two days of this holiday weekend as well, so I think I’ll pass. I do know that keeping 8 rookie draft picks are the most in this century.

I was very surprised by the Burnett cut. But, special teams will be better for it as Madison is very solid. Apparently, Captain Kangaroo has the coaches ear.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

while it may be the most drafted rookies to stick in a century, I count 9 rookies from last year on the final 53 if you include Ramon Foster and Stefan Logan who were undrafted.

that seems like alot of youth until you see summers, burnett, urbik and harris washing out in their second year. i would try for urbik and burnett on the PS, and maybe harris, but frank the tank can take a hike.

Logan wasn't a rookie last year. Dude is 29 years old. He was in camp with the Dolphins as an UDFA back in 2007 and has CFL experience since then as well.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

An "anonymous league source" is claiming the Steelers have signed Frank Summers to their Practice Squad.

I'm still hoping some rookie fieldgoal kicker distinguished themselves but was cut and we could pick him up and get rid of Reed.

They used the franchise tag on Reed. No way he gets cut. A KO specialist, maybe, but still highly unlikely.

Some of the cuts will be signed to the PS?...DUH! Big surprise there, Eddie!

He wasn't sure if Burnett and Bailey were eligible for the PS? I'm pretty sure you can google up this info, Ed. I mean, isn't it sort of your job to find out these things?

And he didn't think a player like Bailey would be snapped up by some other team?

Hard for me to believe that Douchette gets paid to write some of this stuff.
