    Board help w/ Steelers trivia

Hey guys. The last couple of years I have been asking my family a weekly Steelers trivia question for all of the away games. Usually I just comb through the media guide and find some cool facts, but this year I want to take it up a notch. The only rule I have is make the answer be a number, that way my niece or anyone else who doesn't have a clue can make a guess. An example from last season was what year did the Steelers move into Three Rivers Stadium and what year did they move into Heinz Field? Answers; 1970 and 2001. Got it? Now, fire away with the questions.

Re: Board help w/ Steelers trivia

    How are these?

In what year did the Steelers have three head coaches (The only time in their history they had more than one coach in the same year)?

or you could ask the question this way...

How many head coaches did the Steeler have in 1941?

How many Super Bowls did Andy Russel play in?

How many Super Bowls did John Banaszak play in?

How much did the Steelers pay Byron "The Whizzer" White in 1938 (an outlandish sum of money at the time)?

What are the numerical addresses for Three Rivers Stadium and Heinz Field?

    That's all for now...

Re: Board help w/ Steelers trivia

    okay, here goes:

how many total head coaches has the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise had since being founded in 1933?

List of Pittsburgh Steelers head coaches

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pittsburgh Steelers franchise has had 16 head coaches throughout its history.

Founded as the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1933, the name was changed to the Steelers prior to the 1941 season to celebrate the city's heritage of producing steel. Joe Bach served two separate terms as head coach and Walt Kiesling served three separate terms. During the 1943 and 1944 seasons, due to the amount of players who fought in World War II, the Steelers combined their team with Philadelphia and Chicago, respectively. During these seasons, Steelers' coach Walt Kiesling shared coaching duties with Greasy Neale and Phil Handler, who have not been included within this list.

Struggling for much of the franchise's early years, the team's first season with more wins than losses was coached by Jock Sutherland in 1942. In 1947, under Sutherland, the Steelers played their first playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Twelve of the 16 head coaches spent their entire professional coaching careers with the franchise, including John McNally, Bert Bell, and Chuck Noll, who have also been voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. One of only four men to coach the same team for 23 years, Chuck Noll retired in 1991. Noll is also the only coach in National Football League history to win four Super Bowls. Bill Cowher, Noll's replacement, coached the Steelers to their fifth Super Bowl victory, in 2005. The Steelers sixth Super Bowl win came in Super Bowl XLIII, while head coached by Mike Tomlin, the team's current head coach.

Jock Sutherland coached the Steelers from 1946–1947

Re: Board help w/ Steelers trivia

How many Steeler jerseys does SN1 have in his closet? (the answer is sure to get you in trouble with the wife)

What are the dimensions of a standard Terrible Towel? 16" X 23"

What is the only uniform number officially retired by the Steelers? 70

How many points have the Steelers scored in 7 Super Bowl appearances combined? 168

How many posts does SN1 have on the PlanetSteelers message board? T.B.D.

How many home stadiums in Pittsburgh have housed the Steelers? 4 (Forbes, Pitt, Three Rivers, Heinz). You could make it a trick question by eliminating the "in Pittsburgh" part, making the answer 6, since they played home games at Shibe Park in Philly and Comiskey Park in Chicago during the Steagles and Card-Pitt days during WWII.

How many Steeler tattoos do these guys have? None of us want to know.

Believe it or not, the ungodly amount of money Whizzer White was paid that year was $15,000.
