I really botched mine last year, someone even said "dude, that guy's a fourth rounder" and that may be the case again but since this is just fun. Here is my 1st Round Mock, for better or for worse.
1.) St. Louis – Sam Bradford
The Rams need a franchise QB, Bradford looks like he could be one.
2.) Detroit Lions – Russell Okung
The Lions have a franchise QB, Okung will grow up with him and keep him off his back.
3.) Tamp Bay – Gerald McCoy
The Buc’s defense stunk last year, a good first piece towards rebuilding
4.) Washington – Brian Bulaga
The ‘Skins line stunk last year, they have McNabb, Bulaga helps keep him upright.
5.) Kansas City – Ndamukong Suh
Can’t believe this beast of a young man falls, KC thanks their lucky stars and picks up the guy that may be the best prospect in the draft.
6.) Seattle – Joe Haden
Their secondary stunk last year with a capital S. Haden will start immediately.
7.) Cleveland – Jimmy Clausen
The Browns need a Quarterback, Clausen can sit behind Delhomme for a year or two with no pressure to win. I’m totally disregarding Cleveland not wanting another Notre Dame guy though...............
8.) Oakland – Taylor Mays
No way Al Davis can get past this kids measurable’s
9.) Buffalo – Eric Berry
Buffalo wasn’t really good anywhere last year, Berry will help the secondary
10) Jacksonville – Earl Thomas
Jacksonville also had secondary trouble last year, Thomas helps them rebuild. I really considered Tim Tebow here....
11.) Denver – Rolando McClain
Crones will drop him just a bit, Denver’s run defense stunk up the joint last year, McClain looks awfully good.
12.) Miami – NT Dan Williams
3-4 D needs a 3-4 Nose Tackle. Dan Williams is a good fit here.
13.) San Francisco – Trent Williams
SF needs help on the O-line, this guy gives them a good start on the O-line.
14.) Seattle – Dez Bryant
Pete Caroll thinks he has his QB of the future (really??) and I’m sure CJ Spiller is tempting here but why not take a shot at the top WR in the draft?
15.) NY Giants – Jared Odrick
I was thinking maybe Pierre-Paul here but Odrick seems to be a better fit with the Giants and Pierre-Paul could be a four game wonder and I just don’t see them taking the risk.
16.) Tennessee – Jason Pierre-Paul
I could be wrong here but Pierre-Paul kind of reminds me body style of Jevon Kearse from years past, they need a pass rush and Paul can do that. Maybe Dunlap here?
17.) San Francisco – Sergio Kindle
Sergio Kindle paired off with Patrick Willis will make an obscene 2/3 of their line backing corps.
18.) Pittsburgh – Brandon Graham
Graham can play behind Deebo and Woodley for a year or so and rotate in, giving us a fearsome threesome OLB corps.
19.) Atlanta – Sean Weatherspoon
We could have taken this kid too, he’s a great ball player, has some leadership ability and will help Atlanta’s aging front seven.
20.) Houston – Ryan Matthews
Houston needs someone for their QB (who's name I can't recall) to hand the ball off to full time. Matthews is a big kid, has some speed and at 220 (ish) with 4.5 ish speed reminds me of Mendenhall.
21.) Cincinnati – Anthony Davis
Cincy’s line was it’s Achilles heel last year, Davis falls to them at 21 because people think he’s lazy. Put this guy up with the big Hoss from Alabama they drafted last year and they’ll have two first round tackles.
22.) New England – Everson Griffen
NE needs some help coming off the edge, Griffen will give that pass rush. Has freakish athletic ability, Paul or Dunlap here too?
23.) Green Bay – Maurkice Pouncey
The O’line in Green Bay stinks, Pouncey starts to help that.
24.) Philadelphia Eagles – Kyle Wilson
Philly traded away Sheldon Brown and are in need of a good CB. Kyle Wilson is still available on my board, they swipe him up. Samuels won't be here forever.
25.) Baltimore Ravens – Devin McCourty
Baltimore’s pass defense started to slip last season, McCourty helps shore that up.
26.) Arizona Cardinals – Jerry Hughes
AZ lost Danzby and needs some LB help. I love Joey Porter but he’s not the long term solution there.
27.) Dallas Cowboys – Mike Iupati
Dallas just released Flozell Adams, Iupati starts day one.
28.) San Diego – Terrence Cody
No one wants to use a first round pick on the man with large breasts but he’s probably the best NT prospect in the draft. There's a piece of me that could see him going to us at 18.........
29.) NY Jets – Golden Tate
I thought of reaching for Aurellious Benn here b/c Sanchez to throw the ball to but Tate’s measurable’s are phenomenal and pretty hard to pass up at 29.
30.) Minnesota – Brian Price
Pat Williams can’t last forever can he?
31.) Indy – Bruce Campbell
Indy needs some young blood on the Oline. Campbell sneaks by the Raiders even though is measurables are remarkable and Indy picks him up as a bargain at the end of the 1st Round.
32.) New Orleans – Carlos Dunlap
The Saints need D and Dunlap is a very talented young man that played for a winning program.
