What did Gary Russell do? I thought he wasn't brought back simply because he wasn't all that good. It was Cedric Wilson who was dumped after multiple off-the-field incidents.

NFL player locker room talk: Discussing what can be done about racial inequality and criminal justice reform.

Presidential locker room talk: Discussing involuntary gynecological exams.

According to the highest office in the country, some "very fine people" marched with torches in a violent protest in Charlottesville, but participating in a non-violent protest on a football field means you are an S.O.B. who should be fired.

That's the first I heard that, but it appears you are correct:

Gary Russell Released Due To Marijuana Bust In Columbus?

Steel City Insider is reporting that recently released running back Gary Russell may not have been a salary cap dump after all. The site is reporting that a house in Columbus, Ohio where Russell was staying was part of a drug bust where marijuana was found. This is still a developing story and since then Russell has been signed by the Bengals, which all makes perfect sense now. Stay tuned as more of this story may develop.
