Could the new owners have an impact

On all the free agents the Steelers are signing ? Although i think they should have saved all the older vets signing ( Randall Ell, Battle and Foote ) and just signed one impact player.

Problem was that there were a lot of holes in the roster. Sweed looks to be losing his spot and ARE solved that. TC and RC free agents and WA and RC solved that. Foote for the obvious lack of depth at LB. If we happen to draft a rook at one of those positions, then someone has to compete. If not, at least we are covered .

I agree totally. We had a complete lack of depth at LB and DB last year. It was exposed in the secondary because of Troy's injury and we got lucky at LB that we had no injury.

Foote was a necessary depth move because we have nothing in our LB Corps past the 4 starters (and Farrior is a big question mark) and Fox.

Tyrone Carter was a disaster last year probably bigger than Gay. His inability to provide even a basic level of compentency at SS was the straw that really broke the camels back in the secondary because the way LeBeau's schemes are designed they are SS centric. Will Allen will be a huge upgrade.
