Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger flew to Georgia on Saturday to cooperate with an investigation into a recent sexual assault charge filed against him, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

According to the source, Roethlisberger and other associates who were with him the night the alleged incident took place spent Saturday answering questions from the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. Roethlisberger and his lawyer have refuted the sexual assault charges, and the investigation is ongoing.

Roethlisberger’s agent, Bruce Tollner, declined to comment about whether or not the quarterback was in Georgia over the weekend. Roethlisberger missed the start of the Steelers’ offseason workout program Monday.

At this point, there has been no meeting scheduled between Roethlisberger and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, according to sources, though the quarterback did fly back to Pittsburgh after leaving Georgia to meet with Steelers ownership and team officials about the matter.
