AWESOME! Calmkiller's dream is one step closer to reality. I know he's been your boy since before he got drafted. This is good news...definitely a bruiser...as long as "St. Arians" can find a way to use him.

I would have drafted him out of WVa. he is a better back up option than Frank Summer and Issac "Preseason hero" Redman. I really hope they bring him in.
Willie Parker, Gary Russell and John Kuhn were UDFA RBs who flashed in the preseason for this team. All three have jobs and value (albeit different) in the NFL. I don't see why you scoff at folks who want to give Redman a chance.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

Schmitt would instantly be a fan favorite. How does he do on special teams?

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Steelers brought him in for a test drive.

And yet Carey Davis remains gainfully employed. For whatever reason, Arians is not a fan of true lead-blocking FB's like we used during Bettis' prime. He likes multi-dimensional FB's who can run a bit, catch a bit, act as a 3rd TE if needed, etc. Schmitt meets all of those Arians' criteria.

The Rams' offense featuring weapons such as Marshall Faulk, Torrey Holt, and Isaac Bruce were known as "The Greatest Show on Turf"

The Steelers' offense featuring weapons such as Le'Veon Bell and Martavis Bryant should be known as "The Greatest Show on Grass"

This has nothing at all to do with respective playing surfaces at the Edward Jones Dome vs. Heinz Field.
