I wouldn't be surprised if depression was Sweed's illness. I won't touch it because I think those 2 drops changed his career path. He can still bounce back but a ton of players spiral down real hard. It could be serious. Wallace emerging can't help his confidence either.
I have to agree that Sweed was probably having issues with depression which is why it wasn't discussed. If you recall since his rookie year it was widely written that Sweed put lots of pressure on himself. He was always reported to have a very good work ethic so one has to figure he was having problems dealing with failure. Hope he gets this sorted out because he always seemed like a fine young man.
Playing Fantasy Football does not qualify you to be the in the front office or on the coaching staff of the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are professionals and you are not!

It wouldn't surprise me either. I hate to speculate, but it makes a lot of sense. The Steelers staying so tight-lipped about the situation lets us know that it is clearly something personal, and not football related. If it was a physical non-football injury, I don't think they'd be so tight lipped. I also read that he showed up to practice towards the end of the year, and I remember somebody (Santonio?) really seemed to emphasize that he was joking and laughing. Emphasizing laughter, etc. makes sense if Sweed was depressed.

As for Sweed vs. Edwards, the big difference is track record. Edwards has averaged 15.5 ypc for his career, and he has one monster season to his credit. I still haven't given up on Sweed, but next year is obviously his make or break season.

    Ricky Williams suffers from depression

    Vince Young suffers from depression

    Limas Sweed suffers from depression?

We better not draft anymore of those UT players.

and put Tony Hill on a 24 hour watch also.

Crap! I just changed my sig today with an uber-early mock draft (just to please all of the mock draft lovers we have around here), and my first round pick is a Longhorn! Now I'm depressed.

    You guys crack me up!!

It's just a good thing that Hines keeps producing like he has. Hines is a player (barring injury) can stand the test of time as long as they move him around and not let him get jammed at the LOS. Hines never had speed, he just finds holes in the zone.

Having said that, Hines could be one play away from having a long term injury and I really hope Sweed can get rid of this depression about Casey Hampton not being able to dance like Willie Gay. But if he only knew that the players gather around Willie Gay b/c they are laughing at him to get him to dance, he'd not be so depressed.
