Rivers has a higher ceiling than Ben and Eli

    Per Mike and Mike

Where do they get this stuff from?

Never any explanation as to why. Ben is the one who is younger and hasn't played the position as long.

    Makes no sense.

These people talk more after a big bean burrito. The fact is that someone floated that idea about Rivers being amazing and god, and it worked, so every sports mouth echos it. That's all.

It's an opinion; wrong as you or I might think... I don't know where the indignity comes from. It's not as if they are comparing David Carr or Tavaris Jackson to Ben or something.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

While they're talking up Rivers' upside... Drew Brees continues to torch numbers up, season after season. Brees was/is a much better qb than Rivers.... I think the San Diego FO will never admit their mistake. Rivers will never have earn a ring for the SD organization.

Ben may be younger, but he has certainly has more pro experience than Rivers. They were drafted the same year and Ben started as a rookie. So, I don't know if your argument about playing the position as long holds any water.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

This exact thought pops into my head every time I hear these media jagoffs talking about how great Rivers is. I still don't think they would have won a SB yet, but I think Brees would have given them a much better shot.

"Higher ceiling" to the pundits equals the ability to pile up huge stats. Also keep in mind that Golic picked the Chargers to be in the Super Bowl so he is just reinforcing his opinion.

Rivers is in an offense that is designed for him to pile up meaningless stats just like Drew Brees.

The reality is Rivers is too much of a head case to win a championship.

Brees is much better than Rivers so far, but they are both stats machines so far, as well.

I'll take a QB who has champion deep in his heart. You know him as Ben R.

Rivers is a talented player, but he obviously lacks maturity, foresight and tact. He talks way too much trash, as exemplified by the recent beat down administered by Woodley. B. Ben rarely, if ever gets riled, and he’s the master of the come from behind victory. Incidentally, why aren’t more of these self-proclaimed “sports experts” recognizing Roethlisberger’s mastery of the pump fake technique? He hooks opposing players, especially DBs, so often that it has become almost comical to watch.
