PITTSBURGH -- Penguins co-owner and hockey Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux received the National Order of Quebec on Wednesday.

It's the most prestigious honor in the province and confers the rank of Knight upon Lemieux.

Prime Minister of Quebec, Jean Charest, announced last week that Lemieux will be one of 34 honored in a ceremony at Parliament.

The Penguins legend is the only person in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup as both a player and an owner.

Lemieux grew up in Montreal and played junior hockey in Quebec.
