Ravens to add ex-Patriots WR Washington
    by Alex Marvez
    Updated: May 13, 2009, 2:35 PM EST

The Baltimore Ravens will be bolstering their wide receiver corps by signing six-year veteran Kelley Washington, a source told FOXSports.com.

The deal will be finalized Friday pending a physical, the source said. Contract details weren't immediately available.

Washington, 29, played the past two seasons in New England primarily on special teams. He appeared in 10 games last season, catching one pass for three yards.

Washington will have the chance for a larger role offensively in Baltimore, where depth is thin and starter Derrick Mason is coming off shoulder surgery. Washington worked out with the Ravens on a tryout basis last weekend during a minicamp along with fellow veteran free-agent wideouts Jerry Porter and Tab Perry.

A standout at the University of Tennessee, Washington was a fourth-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2003. He caught 72 passes for 893 yards and nine touchdowns in four seasons with the Bengals.
Anyone else as scared as I am by this move? :P

Time for the pundits to start annointing the Ratbirds for the Super Bowl just like they did for the Stains last year. Bottomline will be the same result=Steelers win the AFC North.

Well, since we've already established that Marcus Smith is the next Anquan Boldin, the 6' 3" 215 lbs Washington must be at least as good as the 6' 3" 218 lbs. Terrell Owens, right? Man, those Ravens are building a nasty WR corps over there!

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
