Why don't the refs protect Ben?

No doubt and I've mentioned that in another thread. But when it comes to the quarterback, the league has openly taken the stance that they are going to protect that position moreso than any other. And its severely inconsistent in how its being protected.

That was what I said after Troy got that lamo roughing call against Rivers.

Be consistent or get rid of the rule as un-enforcable.

Ben's a big boy and tough to bring down. So they let the defense get away with a little more.

Kinda cool that our QB is a football player.

Ben's not the only QB. Most big QBs have the same issue. Byron has probably taken as many tough shots over the years than Ben.

Had this hit been on Brady or Manning the two players would have been flagged and fined by the league. They may have gotten suspended. It's out of control how much those two are protected. If they are going to let Ben take those kinds of hits, they need to let all the QB's take those kinds of hits.
