Got to start to ask ourselves if this is the best Steelers defense since the 70s. Nothing can really compare to the Steel Curtain, but these guys look like they are better than any defense we have had since 1979.

I can't remember any of Cowher's defenses being this good and rolling up the sacks and QB pressures like this one has. All this and we are missing our starting FS last night and CB (multiple weeks). The organization has built great depth across the defense although IMO they did take a calculated risk on the DL that has paid off for them thus far.

Like I have said consistently, defense in today's NFL is all about attacking the QB. Everything else is a secondary consideration because the NFL has skewed the rules to favor the passing games and teams have built their offenses to exploit that. The Giants have figured that out where their DL and pass rush covers for average to above average LBs and DBs.

It looks like we may be rolling towards 50 sacks.
