    OT: Bengals sign Cedric Benson...

My initial reaction is DAMN IT.

I've seen Cedric Benson and have heard him plenty living in Chicago. He's a waste of a roster spot, IMHO...

With running back DeDe Dorsey out for year, the Bengals turned to a star-crossed former first-round pick in Cedric Benson to back up Chris Perry Sunday in Dallas.

Nah, if they just sign another receiver they'll be fine.

So here is a breakdown of everything I've seen from Benson (Off the field) while he was in Chicago:

    - Came in and didn't get along with Thomas Jones. Which I'll admit I thought was more Thomas Jones's fault more then Benson's.

    - The Team (Mainly the O-Line) backed Thomas Jones which caused some issues

    - Benson went on the airwaves here and stated "One thing I learned is that in the NFL unlike College, the most talented player doesn't always start" (Paraphrasing). Obviously taking a shot publically at Thomas Jones.

    - Meet Benson at a hole-in-wall bar here in Chicago. It was around the time of training camp. Benson was sitting at the bar the whole time doing shots and throwing up the long-horns symbol. Everyone needs to blow off steam but doing shots, late at night when you're considered a 1st round bust by many in the city during training camp just showed a lack of drive to me.

    - Busted for multiple DUI's and then dropped by the team.

    - Players on the team now are praising Matt Forte and stating, finally we have a RB again that runs hard. Also stating that they should have never let Thomas Jones go without having a reliable RB on the team (Another shot at Benson).

Now we sign him to our team. He might be talented, he was a 1st round draft pick and Jerry Angelo the Bears GM does have a good eye for talent. But that formula of taking in troubled but talented players has not worked out thus far for us. So I don't think it will work in this situation.

    I hope I'm wrong though.

On the field, Benson appeared to go down on first contact the majority of the time. Couple that with our O-Line's inability to create holes and he'll probably average 2.something yards per play...

The Bungles can have Benson - what a bust. I seriously would take Davenport over him any day of the week.

Benson just doesnt match the obvious goal of improving team character in Cincinnatti. He just adds to the loser element. Somebody up the food chain isnt thinking. Im sorry for you JOM.

The running joke now on the Bengals board is how long until we try to sign Mike Vick. Sadly I can see Mike Brown trying as soon as he's released from jail...

Well, in jail, the standard uniform is either the classic Keystone Cops black stripe look or the more modern orange jumpsuit look. The Bengals uniform attracts convicts because it is a mixture of both...orange with black stripes.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
