Re: If Carson Palmer had the steelers running game

I see where you're coming from. I have been trying not to get too excited about Perry all offseason because well he's Chris Perry. I just hope that either him or Rudi can regain their 2005 form. Neither RB has been good the past two seasons.

But like I said anyone that saw the game last night, saw what a healthy Chris Perry can do. Preseason or not, the speed with which he hit the hole was something I haven't seen in Cincy in quite a while (3D doesn't count).

As for Watson, I kind of look at him like you guys looked at Davenport last season. Good numbers/production when he was in and made some good plays but overall he's not the answer. I love having him on the depth charts but if he's the primary ball carrier we're going to be in the bottom half of the league rushing wise...

before perry's injury problems he was a very solid rb. how do you think rudi johnson will do this year? well what i saw of watson last season i was very impressed with. especially with that o-line, he played as well as you could hope for if your a bengal fan

I don't get this post. I hate agreeing with a troll, but the Steelers seem comparable or better in most rushing categories over the past four seasons.

    2004

    PITT 2464 yds - 4.0 ypc - 20 TD - 8 fumbles lost
    CINN 1839 yds - 4.2 ypc - 14 TD - 10 fumbles lost

    2005

    PITT 2223 yds - 4.0 ypc - 21 TD - 6 fumbles lost
    CINN 1910 yds - 4.2 ypc - 15 TD - 6 fumbles lost

    2006

    PITT 1992 yds - 4.2 ypc - 16 TD - 11 fumbles lost
    CINN 1629 yds - 3.7 ypc - 14 TD - 10 fumbles lost

    2007

    PITT 2168 yds - 4.2 ypc - 9 TD - 6 fumbles lost
    CINN 1556 yds - 3.7 ypc - 10 TD - 7 fumbles lost
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

Our running game was fine in 2004 and 2005. It's been the past two seasons (as the stats show) that it has fallen off drastically...

Watson did look good at times and you're right we really couldn't have hoped for any better. Especially considering he was 3rd or 4th on the depth chart entering the season...
