    Sweed carted off the field

Steelers No. 2 draft pick checked for injury
    Wednesday, July 30, 2008
    Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Wide receiver Limas Sweed, the Steelers No. 2 draft pick from Texas, was carted off the field during the afternoon practice today with a possible right hamstring injury.

His leg was being iced down. The extent of any injury was not yet clear.

Earlier in the practice, Sweed caught a touchdown pass on a crossing pattern, breaking a tackle by safety Grant Mason.

Update from the local news.. it was just a cramp. Whew.
We were at camp yesterday and the way Sweed was going all out, an injury wouldn't surprise me.

<WHEW> I'm really excited to see him play this year...

    On a side note:

I've always wondered how one decides how "hard" to go in camp? Especially as a rookie, ya know? You want to do everything you can to impress, yet at the same time you don't' want to be laying folks out or injuring yourself.

Go to hard, bad things can happen...
Go to soft, you might miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime...

There be a fine line there, there be.

    <WHEW> is right!......

When I saw the thread title, I almost dropped my jaw... It hasn't exactly been the "best of starts" to camp so far injury-wise...

Same here. I'm glad it's a cramp and not a hamstring injury. We all know how hammie injuries like to hang around and nag a player all year. Just ask Duce Staley.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I read the thread and was afraid that this was starting to be one of those injury bug type years that teams get.

This is a big relief. I have a suspicion that Sweed could play a huge role in the upcoming season.
