    Enjoy Coke: Matt Jones does

    ...The powdery kind.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones faces a felony drug charge in his former college town after police say he was inside a car cutting up cocaine with a credit card.

The 25-year-old Jones and two others were arrested early Thursday. A police report said officers approached the car and an officer drew his handgun after Jones did not immediately show his hands.

Police said they searched the vehicle and found a plastic bag filled with a white substance that tested positive for cocaine and a jar with possible marijuana residue.

Jared Hicks and Benjamin Cook were also arrested on misdemeanor drug charges. Jones will be arraigned Friday on a charge of felony possession of a controlled substance.

Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver said he was waiting to learn details of the case.

"We're trying to investigate that now," Weaver said. "We don't have all the facts. We will comment on that once we have all the facts."

Jones, a star quarterback at Arkansas and a first-round pick in 2005, failed to develop into the go-to receiver Jacksonville thought he could be.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Guess Matt was trying to smooth out a little bump in the road.
Too bad for him, hope he straightens himself out, really doesn't take a lot of brains to get caught in your car getting high on coke. I think if you get caught with felony drug possession for the first time, you should automatically get a four game suspension from the league after civil penalties. Not so much as a punishment, but to afford the time to actually focus on recovery. Second time, take a year off, third time goodbye NFL.

I have to agree 100%. How does the league expect a player to recover from addiction without time to do it properly? I agree with the 4-5 games. Any player caught like this needs to be placed inpatient for 28 days. You don't get caught cutting up coke in your car unless you are further along that addiction path. He needs to get real help before he thinks about football.

Last pre-season there was a huge discussion on possibly acquiring this guy in FA to help with our pass attack. Thank god that never materialized. I didn't think that this was much of a habit anymore... kind of went out with the 80s. The booger sugar is a nasty spiral down to an abyss that unfortunately some people ruin their lives over. BF, excellent delineation of penalties that should be handed down by the league if these type of infractions occur.

    Booger Sugar.... Nice

The thing here is the NFL really needs a better policy or an addiction specialist that they consult. There is a HUGE difference in doing drugs at lets say a party...and cutting up coke in your car. That statement might seem odd to some people but Matt's actions show a man that is further down that addiction slope. This is an NFL star cutting up coke very publically. That shows a horrific lack of judgement...and a need to get high...right there...F the consequences. I don't condone either (obviously) but the context of drug use must be taken in consideration. Smoking a joint at a party shows some lack of insight. Cutting up coke in your car provides serious evidence that you are dealing with a sick and addicted individual. He needs rehab, frequent random drug testing, and must embrace a NA program. I wouldn't let him back into the NFL until he took care of those issues. Sometimes people must face serious consequences before they are willing to deal with their problems. If you just brush this off...he will get sicker and likely die, or completely ruin his life.
