    Hossa to Red Wings

Wow, was he worth what they gave up to get him? He wasn't completely reliable in the playoffs, but came through a couple times.

That blows that he joined the team that beat him.

Apparently Conklin did it too...this may be was on as well in a different NHL article, but I had not heard this news yet.

    Wings sign Conklin
The Detroit Red Wings announced Tuesday that they have signed goalie Ty Conklin to a one-year deal.

Over the past three seasons, Ty Conklin has gone to the Stanley Cup finals twice as a back-up, with Edmonton in 2006 and this past season with Pittsburgh. Both times, his teams came up short.

Having signed a deal worth a reported $750,000, Conklin will now be looking to be on the right side of the Cup fence next spring. He was terrific in relief of Marc-Andre Fleury, posting a 18-8-5 record while Fleury was out with a high-ankle sprain midway through the season. His .923 save percentage in 33 games was second in the NHL.

Conklin will get a chance to play behind veteran netminder Chris Osgood, who split playing time the last few seasons with the recently retired (for good, one assumes) Dominik Hasek.

In the NFL, we only have Arizona as Pittsburgh West.

In the NHL, Detroit is now Pittsburgh West after signing Hossa and Conklin, while Tampa is Pittsburgh South after signing Malone, Roberts, and Hall.

By the way, jhansle just started a new NHL forum (and a new college football forum) for us today.

Difference maker in the middle needed to replace Shazier.

Offer picks 1.28 & 3.92 plus WR Martavis Bryant to ARZ for pick 1.15. They only have 5 draft picks now, plus their WR's are undersized (John Brown & J.J. Nelson both 5'10") or old (Larry Fitzgerald 35 y.o.).

Gets us ahead of BAL at 1.16, who's looking to replace the retired ILB Zach Orr.

    1.15 Georgia ILB Roquan Smith 6'0" 225
    2.60 Stanford FS Justin Reid 6'1" 204
