we appreciate all the support for Mike over the last few months on this new board...it is much appreciated...

Mike is feeling very upbeat about the situation...although he is dissappointed the Steelers did not see fit to keep him he does thank them, as some have said on this board, for releasing him early so that his agent can work on other opportunities for him....he will be on waivers for three days starting tomorrow and then his agent can begin making calls to other teams on Thursday....

with all that said, Mike is thinking it may be time to move on....he has lived a dream so few football players get a chance to do and is very thankful for that....and even though he loves the game, Mike is a realist and knows there are many factors that go into a team placing you on their roster...maybe his position with the Steelers was just not the right fir because of the personnel they have......drafting Ryan Mundy, who is an excellent player by the way, was a pretty good indication as to where they saw Mike in the scheme of things....

so the next couple of weeks will be interesting....Mike is already talking about returning to school to get his masters which he would have done even if he had made the roster...and as a father, that makes me very happy...

we are proud of our son....he has given us memories that every parent wishes for and it has been a wonderful ride....

if Mike is picked up by another team I will let you know....and again, thanks for all your good wishes for Mike...I wish he had the opportunity to thank each of you in person....you all take care and God Bless...

Sorry to hear Mike got cut, like many other fans from the Trib we were all pulling for him. You guys seem to have a very positive outlook on it the situation and good things with come out it from that.

On another note they must really like Mundy to make a move like this....time will tell I guess. We'll all be pulling for Mike wherever he lands. Thanks for the insiders on his and the teams progress.
ours is not to wonder why just invert and multiply...

To piggy back everyone else's comments, thanks for sharing all of your information regarding your son eltrain. I've always enjoyed following his ride through your posts. Good luck to you guys and let's hope he can fit into another team's plans real soon. I'm looking forward to it.

If he does end up signing with another team, please continue to give us updates about his progress throughout training camp. Even though it won't be with the Steelers, many folks here have adopted your boy to a certain extent as a local underdog to root for.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Next year, my man... Next year... cap won't allow it this year... he'd cost more (capwise) to cut than he would to keep.
