Steelers.com brings you the Ask the Steelers feature. Fans submitted the questions that were asked. Please understand that we receive an incredible number of questions for each player, with many of the questions being similar, and not all of the questions can be answered. We selected as many as possible, and took your questions to the current subject to get your answers.

From Frank DelCampo in Santa Ana, California: What goals and objectives have you set for yourself as a football player in the Steelers organization and how do you plan to achieve them?

Jeremy Bloom: Individually: to become the best player that I can possibly be. Team: To get in where I fit in.

From Chip Titus in Hawthorne, Florida: With the Steelers obvious need for return specialists and special teams, what do you think you need to do to prepare yourself to make an impact in this area?

Jeremy Bloom: Work harder than the guy next to me.

From Wanda Carter in Roanoke, Virginia: What are the strengths that you feel you bring to the Steelers?

Jeremy Bloom: Work ethic, ability to learn and listen, speed, quickness and toughness.

From Tony Harris in Brooklyn, New York: Do you think you can give the return game the boost that it needs and why so?

Jeremy Bloom: Yes I do and if I didn’t I wouldn’t be playing football. Sometimes in team sports it takes more than talent to have an impact. Hines Ward made a T-Shirt that says “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard”. I very much agree with this quote.

From Samuel Disalvo in La Mesa, California: Do you find it difficult to participate in multiple sports such as skiing and football, to adjust to the fatigue and skills that are required?

Jeremy Bloom: No I found it exciting. Once the football season was over I was able to start fresh in a new ski season. I enjoyed it.

From Randy Fone in Nampa, Idaho: Do you think that when a player is dominate on special teams, and they practice with them so much, that it hurts their chances of competing for a starting role on the team.

Jeremy Bloom: No. If you can play you can play. Devin Hester plays on the Bears offense now. Steve Smith made the pro bowl as a return specialist his rookie season and now he is the most dangerous receiver in the league.

From David Saurer in Cleveland, Ohio: How do you feel about being part of a winning organization with the richness and tradition of being a championship organization from top to bottom?

Jeremy Bloom: Honestly I haven’t felt more apart of a “team” since high school. Coach Tomlin is the type of coach that takes a personal interest in all of us and always has our back. He is the type of leader that is always upfront and honest with you and doesn’t leave you wondering where you stand. That type of clarity is unique.

From Jerry Bowler in Denver, Colorado: Coming out of college, were the Steelers a team that showed interest in you and the Eagles beat them to the punch getting you?

Jeremy Bloom: They showed the most interest in me coming into the 2006 draft. It’s funny how things work out, I couldn’t be more happy to have this opportunity here
