What a great subject topic. I'm there with ya MJG... I have to chime in with Steve Austin as well. My favorite connector episodes was when he found Bigfoot as really an automated robot programmed to divert humans from finding out that the mountains that he roamed through was actually an underground alien hive. Some notables on my list were:

    The Bionic Woman
    Charlie's Angels
    Fantasy Island
    Happy Days
    MASH
    Three's Company
    Saturday Night Live
    Sigmund and the Sea Monsters

I don't know if these were in the 70's or early 80's and I'm too lazy to check:

    The Jeffersons
    What's Happening
    Good Times
    The Fat Albert Show
ours is not to wonder why just invert and multiply...

For what its worth, and I never saw this show, I heard Bill Laimbeer interviewed on ESPN radio, and apparently he was a Sleestak for some or one episode. Just some fodder for you.

As far as shows, I wasn't around in the 70s, but I gotta say I was into Star Trek when I was younger. And Three's Company was just a hit with me, I probably have seen every episode. How many times can you use the same "two people are talking in one room while another person in a different room overhears what sounds like a provacative, sexual conversation, but turns out to be completely innocent when said person comes barging into the room" theme. But it was funny every time. Maybe a seperate poll, but who was the best landlord? I say Roper hands down.

Dangit, I looked this up and it just misses the cut (1965-1969), but Wild, Wild West was superb. Arty was the 'Q' of the wild frontier. And put on some good disguises.

One more that barely qualifies (1966-1973) is Mission Impossible. I liked this one too.

Obviously I watched reruns of all these, but still, enjoyed nonetheless.

Dude, I was just talking about this show the other day at work, how weird. Chaka the ape boy.... remember this guy.... Enoch, the time displaced sleestak before their civilization's destruction..... I guess my inner geek is showing.
