    Chad can't pay his taxes...

OK, is it just me, or does anyone find it incredibly pathetic that an athlete that makes millions can't/won't pay his taxes... Or is too stupid to hire someone to pay them for him?... Do you think Marvin will be "passing a hat" around to help Chad out of his predicament?!.......

    Chad owes $13K in taxes
    BY JESSICA BROWN | JLBROWN@ENQUIRER.COM

Disgruntled Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson, who wants out of Cincinnati, owes more than $13,000 in taxes on his Walnut Hills home.

According to tax records at the Hamilton County Auditorís Office, Johnson owes a total of $13,063.35. Of that, $12,780.30 is delinquent.

The latest taxes were due in February.

Johnson bought the $252,000 condominium in 2004, according to property records.

Since then, he earned $10.25 million in bonuses with his 2006 contract on top of a base salary of $2.5 million that year.

Much of the property taxes he owes would have gone to various tax levies including nearly $8,000 to the Cincinnati school district.

Johnsonís agent could not be immediately reached this evening.

Under a new program, the county treasurer is sending certain delinquent tax accounts to a collections agency later this year. It is unclear if Johnsonís account would be on that list.

Exactly, so why isn't this paid? Sounds like he needs to fire his accountant. However, this is ultimately Chad's responsibility.

He could have Troy sign his teeth and sell them on Ebay.

I think Chad has the same tax attorney as Wesley Snipes.

This is about certain individuals either feeling above paying taxes, too disorganized
to realize he needs to pay taxes, or just flat out being immature. When the man comes knocking...he will learn Wesley Snipes style that they are not playing around. Don't mess with "the man" and his money.

Don't professional athletes get paychecks? And like us normal folk, aren't taxes taken out automatically??

Or am I completely wrong and the players are handed brief cases filled with cash?

Sounds like real estate taxes or school taxes, not income taxes. Yea, I'm sure that he's only getting about 50% of salary in his paycheck; however, that does not relieve him of his obligation to pay real estate and school taxes to the local taxing authority.

Do I sound like an accountant? :P
